TCGC was started in April 2005. God in His grace and guidance has helped us start a Telugu ministry in Singapore. We have started with 20 members. Since then the Lord has blessed and helped us grow. The regular attendance of the church now is 180.

Brief Introduction:

Lord’s calling in 2005:
The Lord has called His servant, Bro. Bethapudi Jacob, to start a Telugu Church, for the Telugu speaking people in Singapore. The Lord has promised “Ask of me and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance Psalms 2 : 8”. From henceforth we ask the Lord for the lost souls as an inheritance. Filled with a deep burden and a passion for our beloved Telugu people, we started to seek a place to worship.

Closed Doors:
We presumed that Little India would be an ideal place to worship and have asked a few places at Little India. But all the doors were closed. Since the Lord’s plan was different, high above what we have presumed or planned!

Door Opened by the Lord at GLCC:
Unexpectedly, God introduced us to Bro. Damien Tong, who in turn introduced us to Pastor Paul Choo of Gospel Light Christian Church, who once worked in close association with God's servant, late Bro. Bakth Singh. He readily agreed for us to gather in the church on Sunday evenings. Infact, the church is used by various ministries on Sunday, except for the time slot 7 pm – 10 pm. We were seeking for a place to gather during that time slot. It perfectly met our need. The pastor granted it for free (without rental) and also asked us to use the church van too for the transportation.

This reminds us of Rebecca drawing water for the camels too, when Ebenezer has only asked for water for himself. PRAISE GOD!!!! for pastor’s kindness and for God's bountiful grace.

After many prayers and much struggle for a place to worship, as you know that Singapore is a very small piece of island, to find a place is next to impossible, God provided us a place and it was finalized.

The Lord has shown this place like in Luke 22:12 "He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there."
